El Laberinto del Fauno aka Pan’s Labyrinth has been one of the highlights of the 2006 film calendar and I hope to explain why in this review.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro (Devil’s Backbone, Blade 2, Hellboy), Pan’s Labyrinth is the story of a young girl, Ofelia, who travels with her pregnant mother to their new home, a military outpost in a rural part of Spain commanded by her new stepfather Captain Vidal set against the time of the Spanish civil war of 1936-39...

For more than two decades Superman has been away from the silver screen, and so not surprisingly, Superman Returns has been one of the most eagerly anticipated movies to be produced. Warners Bros. Pictures gave the green light for another movie to be made, offering the role of Director to Bryan Singer, who’d been successful with the X-Men movies...

Directed by Andrew Adamson

I went in to the showing with very vague memories of the BBC Television films. One thing I could remember was the sub title of the film - 'The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe'.

From the outset the film is imaginative and realistic in its depiction of the The Blitz in London. The film is simple and yet unique in itself.

Directed by Richard Linklater

My brother Mitul and my friend Rahmaan had recommended the film as being something of inspiration for my final year project. I think they 'hit the nail on the head' with this film, because it combines great visuals, mainly 2D animation with a sophisticated and well thought out story....
