A while back I read ‘Six Thinking Hats’ by Edward De Bono. It’s a creative thinking book all about the Six Thinking Hats technique that focuses on modal thinking when brainstorming or resolving problems. The idea is that you wear one of the hats, not a physical hat, but it’s a metaphor and you only think in that mode. For example, the green hat is all about generating ‘new’ ideas. So when you wear the green hat you’re only concerned about generating as many new ideas as possible. read more…
It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, so I thought I’d update you on what I’ve been up to. Let’s start with holidays. I’ve been lucky enough to have traveled to India twice this year, after 9 years, which was great. Photos of my most recent trip coming soon. I’ve been ‘mad-busy’ at work, where I’m working on an agile project for one of the UK’s largest telecommunications company.
Outside of work I’m starting work on my online portfolio, where I can showcase my work from the past 2 years. Has anyone got any good examples of online portfolio’s for User Experience Designers/ Architects?

Since September 2008 I’ve been working on an internet banking re-design project at LBi (where I work), for one of the UK’s top-five banks. The project is part of a 5-year programme that includes a redesign of the internet banking service, as well moving to new technology platforms. For confidentiality reasons I’ll refer to this project as ‘Project 5’. read more…
